Tiny Tim came to us from Texas with severely crooked front legs and a future that was never guaranteed. From the very beginning, we knew he was likely a hospice case but that never stopped him from being deeply loved. Over the next year and beyond, Tiny Tim experienced what every animal deserves... safety, good food, comfort, friendship and the freedom to simply exist without suffering. When the time finally came, he let us know and we gave him the kindness of a peaceful goodbye after a little over a year of the quality of life he had always deserved.

Gypsy was one of three mares who came to us after retiring from life as broodmares. For the first time in a very long time, she was simply allowed to be a horse. She spent her days alongside her two best friends (Melissa & Neon), soaking up quiet moments, delicious meals and peaceful pasture days. One evening, the three mares laid down together and by morning, Gypsy had peacefully passed in her sleep beside the companions she loved most.

Pawnee came to us from an auction and it did not take long to realize how much pain she had been silently carrying. X-rays revealed devastating old injuries inside her hoof, including bones that had been broken or crushed at some point in her life and had healed improperly. Despite every effort to evaluate her options, it became clear that there was no humane path forward that would truly free her from suffering. The hardest and kindest thing we could do for Pawnee was to let her go peacefully and finally release her from her pain.

Elmira came to us as an owner surrender after losing weight at an almost unbelievable rate, dropping close to one hundred pounds every couple of days. Once evaluated, it became clear that her condition was far more severe than anyone realized. Between her advanced age, the near total loss of her teeth, severe malabsorption concerns, anemia and the strong possibility of underlying cancer, her prognosis was heartbreaking. Although we desperately wanted a different outcome for her, the kindest gift we could offer was peace. Elmira left this world surrounded by people who cared deeply about her comfort, dignity and freedom from suffering.
